Sunday Afternoon in the Country

Sunday Afternoon in the Country

A long time ago, I took a creative writing class (back when I was sure I was going to be a photojournalist for National Geographic). The instructor said if the first thing you want to do when you wake up in the morning is write, then you should be a writer. My problem was that the first thing I wanted to do in the morning when I woke up was go back to sleep. These days, it’s not much different, except that after I’m up, have my tot fed and dressed, my clothes on, and got the brush through my hair at least a little, I want to grab my camera and go.

This afternoon, I most of my son’s naptime while Daddy took to homework, and drove around for an hour. I was actually trying to find an old cemetery we found once a couple years ago. While I didn’t find the cemetery, I did find an old dirt road. And you just never know what you’ll find along an old dirt road.
